Keep Calm

So I've seen this poster in just about every chic decor featured on the internet/in magazines in the past few years. And I've always wanted one. When I heard Target was going to be stocking canvas prints and pillows with the saying, I hopped in my car to check it out. Only one lone yellow print hung on the shelf. Bummer! So I knew I had to order it online or else they were gonna pass me by. Now I'm just anxiously awaiting the arrival of my cheery red print!

PS - I also love this version.

New York, New York

This week I also watched New York, I Love You (can you tell my parents were out of town so I finally had access to the Netflix Insta Queue?). A "sequel" (don't know what else to call it) to Paris, Je T'aime (which should be seen for the beautiful shots of Paris alone). This one was much more celebrity-driven and instead of being distinct short films, the whole movie overlapped a little bit and characters got to interact. I definitely liked that part of it. Some storylines were better than others (the old people one being my favorite), but it definitely seemed like it focused more on the "I love you" part than the "New York" part. I liked the variety of different relationships you got to see, but wish New York would have had a bigger presence.

The September Issue

So I just watched The September Issue for the first time last night (I know right?). Pretty good. It was able to melt the icy image you have of Anna Wintour a little bit. You get to see her laugh and smile and interact with her family. I think that that quote from A Devil Wears Prada is really the best way to look at Wintour: "If it were a man, no one would be saying anything" (or something like that...) Oh, and don't you want to be friends with Grace? Like, right now? And Andre Leon Talley? I just kept saying, "Are you for real? You're a real person?" I think the documentary could be done better and dug deeper, but overall it was an interesting look into the two biggest personalities behind Vogue and how the magazine gets done every month.

Last but not least - wouldn't you kill to see all the photos that didn't make it into the magazine?
