Birthday wish list

Since my birthday is next week, I thought I'd put together a little birthday wish list. You know, just in case you're reading this, mom.

To get in touch with my inner French girl.

I love the zipper detail on the back of this sweater.

Sparkly flats would put a spring in my step.

Well, it is a dream list, right?

Dream wardrobe

If you had an unlimited budget, where would you shop? It would be a tough choice for me - but I'd probably pick J. Crew. Their clothes are classic, but still fun and modern. Here's what I'd scoop up if I could grab anything I wanted:

Where do you like to do your virtual window shopping?

Dream house

Can I please have the house from It's Complicated? It's pretty swoon-worthy. If that's not available, I'd take the bakery as a consolation prize.

If only...

...I had $22,000 to spare for this.

Treat yourself

I have a few nice pieces of jewelry, all given to me by family and friends. I only buy myself cheapy accessories, usually of the Forever 21 variety. Since my tax return was a little larger than anticipated, I plan on treating myself to something special. I'm looking for a simple, everyday piece.

Diamond Ring, $115 (+$50 if I actually want it be able to wear it)

Nothing better than showing yourself a little love. Which one is your fav?

In the raw

Currently loving the look of raw amethyst. Earthy, eye-catching and surprisingly affordable.

Gift guide

If you haven't finished your holiday shopping (like me) or you know a ton of people with December birthdays (like me), you may be in need of some gift ideas. The best part? All under $40.

Rosebud Salve is a must-have, and even more covetable when it's in a handy tube. (Just bought this...officially obsessed)

Cute flats in a multitude of colors, complete with a drawstring tote. Great for the party girl who needs a chic way to get home after a late night.

When my cousin and I stopped by Lush the other day, everything looked, so, well, lush. If you don't have the time to pick out your own products, they have lots of pre-wrapped gift sets. Perfect for that last minute Secret Santa that you (eek!) almost forgot about.

Dream bank. Slip in a picture of what you want most, and work your way up to that goal, baby!

This Karl tote would make even the most sophisticated fashionista giggle.

Craving

So, after seeing this picture:

I decided I needed this Elizabeth and James dress in my life. But if I'm being honest with myself, it's only because I want to twirl in it.

No idea where I'd wear these, but I feel like I need them in my life.

Bad romance

So I'll be the first to tell you I have an unhealthy addiction to (faux) leather jackets. Which is only a problem when you consider the fact that I live in an area where the temperature rarely drops below 50 degrees. Anyways, I'm lusting. (PS - the first one looks very similar to my Holy Grail of leather jackets. Too bad it's $520.)

Accessories: Part III

Alright, here we go. Part III - bags (check out parts I and II). Quite possibly my favorite of the three (but really, how can you choose?!).

1. Finally, a clutch you can actually fit stuff in. Love the large size and texture of this one.
2. This sparkly bag would jazz up skinny cargo pants and a denim shirt nicely.
3. While I usually favor large bags (that I seem to lose everything in - which is part of the reason that I never answer my phone), I'm slowly being converted to the cross-body bag side. I love them. So easy to just sling over your shoulder and go.
4. I love that you can convert this into a shoulder bag with a slouchier look.
5. Um, a girl can dream

Accessories: Part II

My next batch of accessories (see Part I here) is all about shoes. For me, there are only two heel heights that matter when it comes to shoes: flat and super high. There's no in between in my closet. So here's what I'd like to have in my wardrobe:

1. I just bought a pair of TOMS (in red, no less) and they are super comfy. Plus, you're donating a pair to a child in need. Love when you can do good by shopping.
2. Minnetonkas are next on my list of "to-buy" shoes. I can already picture so many fall outfits they would go with.
3. Ballet flats are a staple of my wardrobe, and a pair in soft grey would be lovely.
4. Loeffler Randall makes the most drool-worthy boots
5. Black studded heels would complement skinny jeans and a nice top or add edge to a cocktail dress.
6. Nude sky-high heels are also make my most-wanted list. I could use the extra 5 inches these heels would provide.

Accessories: Part I

For my style, I usually stick with casual, classic pieces in neutral colors. I choose to make accessories the focus of my outfits. In part one of my three-part accessory post (shoes and bags to come!), I'm covering all the lovely baubles and jewels. For me, the bolder, the better. Let's dive right in:

1. I love the tangled mix of metals and materials of this necklace.
2. Someday I'll own a Tiffany Key. Until that day, maybe this will suffice?
3. Oftentimes, I'll reach for a chunky, menswear watch to top off my typical outfit of a tee and skinny jeans.
4. Pocket watch necklace. Kind of Alice in Wonderland meets grandpa's heirloom (two things you never thought would be in the same sentence).
5. Sometimes all you need is a big rock. Earthy and pretty.
6. Rosaries look good alone or layered.
7. I'm a sucker for a snake cuff. Love them!
