LV

I love the idea of decorating with vintage luggage (especially vintage LV). Doesn't a steamer trunk seem so old-fashioned and romantic? Back when travel meant month-long ocean voyages and cross-country road trips. A casual stack of old luggage would bring a little bit of that glamour to your living room or bedroom (especially if the luggage still had all those cool travel stickers on it!)

Summer lovin'

Here in California, we have two kinds of weather: cold (below 65 degrees) and not cold (above 65 degrees). Even though it's been an abnormally chilly spring for us, we finally starting to heat up. I'm ready for summer! Though I do consider it the hardest season to dress cute in (sometimes it's just too hot to think of new outfits). My summer essentials include: breezy cover-ups, easy dresses, denim shorts, mix-and-match bikinis, sandals and cardis for chilly nights.

(clockwise from top left)

Straw fedora - Now I'm not the type of person who can wear hats, but in my mind, I could pull off this one
Men's style shirt - can be worn so many ways (with leggings, belted...)
White bikini - looks even better with a (fake) tan
Khaki coverup - can be worn on and off the beach
Purple cardi - one of those cardis you can wrap a million ways (you know, one that I can't figure out)
Black dress - perfect on it's own, over a bathing suit, dressed up with heels or down with sandals
White shorts - perfect for warm summer nights
Havianas - classic for a reason! I love them
Striped cardi - can you tell I'm currently obsessed with stripes?
Ruffled bikini - so cute and girlie
Denim shorts - so easy to throw on and run out the door
Striped dress - perfect for a day of brunching and window shopping (paired with espadrilles and gold jewelry)

Next thing on my list

I would love to have a delicate signet ring engraved with my initials.

Vegas baby

My family and I have been making yearly trips to Vegas ever since part of our family moved there about 15 years ago. And while I got to visit just about every arcade on the strip, there wasn't much else kid-friendly to see. So despite being a Vegas veteran, I'm just now getting to do the actual fun stuff. One thing I'm dying to see is the Boneyard. Basically it's a final resting place for all the old signs. Whoever came up with that idea is genius. You can reserve a tour there, but unfortunately it'll be closed next weekend when I go. Sigh. Next time!

Cinespia

Last year, I heard about this event called Cinespia, where movies get screened at the Hollywood Forever Cemetary. My mom, cousin and I packed up a picnic dinner (bread and cheese, grapes and sparkling lemonade - yum!) and went. We caught a showing of Some Like It Hot (HIGHLY recommended). Lemme tell you - people really get into these weekly showings! They go all out. I saw people with mini tables, candles, the works. It was definitely a fun, unique way to go out in LA. And I wanna go again this summer. I would love to see a scary movie - how awesome would that be? Too bad I don't know too many people who like scary movies. Any takers?

They have an awesome selection of old classic movies and cult hits. It's a total hipster heaven. It's just really fun to sit out under the stars and watch a movie!
