Survival of the Fittest

Ok, I admit, I bought this issue of Elle specifically for this editorial. I'm kinda in love. Part Night at the Museum, part "Urban Jungle" shoot from Devil Wears Prada, all good. (And I knew I would love the Givenchy purple dress more in an editorial shoot. It looks stunning there.)

Somebody's got a case of the Monday's...

Kinda depicts how I felt today. Partly because I did battle with our extremely temperamental copier (I lost). PS - Am I the only one who didn't know "temperament" had an "a" in it??

Bits and pieces

Kinda obsessed with this picture. The casual men's shirt, the messy hair, the sunnies, the red lipstock, the pose. Ahh! (I made it my wallpaper on my ipod...weird?)

I cleared out a bunch of old songs from my ipod. Highly recommended. Shuffle is a much more pleasant process now.

I've always had a love/hate relationship with shorts. As in, I love them in theory, hate them in execution. Why are good, flattering ones impossible to find?? Who knew my savior would come in a $10 pair from F21? (So of course, I bought 2 pairs!)

This article provided an interesting look at the future at F21.

Mmm. The casual collegiate look.

Cheap, fun things to do in LA? I'm down.

I kinda wish I was doing this right now. Magazine perusing and lunch at a cafe in Paris? S'il vous plait.

And lastly, I'm 100% addicted to homemade bruschetta. Seriously, it's a problem. So good!

Karl and Buzz Lightyear?

Elle Spain did an animated editorial depicting famous designers as Disney characters. Crazy? Yes. Kooky? Yes. Cute? Yes. Check out the rest here.

Wedding Wear

When I was in college, a friend who was a few years older warned me of the wedding explosion that would occur once I graduated. I laughed it off, thinking "I'll be 21 when I graduate! No way!" Little did I know, it would be a mere two months after graduation that I would be attending my first peer wedding. And now...I have 4 weddings coming up in the next year! So now my question is, of course, what to wear? I need something that could be church-appropriate, family-appropriate and still wearable for other occasions. A few photos of inspiration...

Wild Kingdom

Animal prints walk a very fine line between looking classy and looking trashy. Which is why I steer clear of ones like cheetah print and snake skin, which can be hard to get right. I'm more into the unique looking prints: ostrich and sting ray. They have such great textures that are especially complimented by bright colors.

I have to confess...owning a Birkin is one of my life goals. An ostrich one?? Ridiculous! (In a good way)

L.O.V.E.

I can't stop obsessing over Demi Moore's shoot in the April issue of HB. (Does anyone really call it HB, or did I just make that up cause I love abbreviations?) Anywhos...it's just, yeah, love.

Dream wardrobe

Ever see an item of clothing (whether it be in a magazine, on a celeb, or in a dream) and have it become an obsession? A constant in the back of your mind. You hunt, you search, but you never quite find one just like it. Yeah, that's this leather jacket for me. I didn't realize it, but the picture's from 2006. That's four years of wishing! Oh well. Someday... (Oh, and I could use her shoes too!)
